StrangerYaar runs in the browser on Android phones, iPhones and desktop computers. The same chat works on each, so you can switch devices without learning anything new.

That means no storage-hungry download.

Opening the same address on any of them takes you straight to the chat.

Install it to your home screen

StrangerYaar can be installed as a web app. After you add it, it appears as an icon on your phone, opens full screen and feels like any other app.

• On Android, use your browser's install or add to home screen option
• On iPhone, use Share, then Add to Home Screen
• On desktop, use the install icon in the address bar if your browser shows one

Notifications

If you allow notifications in your browser, the app can let you know when a friend writes back. You stay in control and can switch them off in your device settings at any time.

You can decide later if you want them, and nothing about chatting depends on them.

Light on storage and data

Because it is text based, it is light to use. There is no camera, no video and no large download, so it can run well even on a modest phone or connection.

On a small phone, that can be a real advantage.

What is inside

Random one to one chats, interests, 33 languages, voice notes, GIFs, reactions, Add friend, and report and block with moderator review. Chatting is free for adults aged 18 and over.

Getting started in four steps

One: open StrangerYaar in your usual browser. Two: confirm you are 18 or older. Three: optionally add it to your home screen. Four: choose your interests and languages, and press start.

If something does not look right, refresh the page, check your connection, and try again. Browsers differ a little, so the install option may be named slightly differently on your device.

This approach suits people who like a simple setup, share a device with family, or do not want another icon taking space. If you prefer a store listing and automatic updates from a store, a web app works differently, and you should know that before you start.
