Staying safe on StrangerYaar

Talking to strangers should be fun, not risky. Here is how we protect you, and how you can protect yourself.

How we keep chats safe

• 18+ only. Everyone confirms their age before they can chat.
• You stay anonymous. Strangers see a random name and emoji, never your email, phone number or exact location.
• Report and block in one tap. Reports reach our moderators with the last few messages of the chat. You can still report someone for a few minutes after they leave.
• Blocked means gone. Anyone you block is never matched with you again.
• Photos are checked. Photos are scanned for nudity and violence before they are delivered, arrive blurred until you tap them, and have their location data removed.
• Stranger chats aren't stored. Random chats are not saved. Only reported conversations are kept, for review.
• Rule breakers are banned by account and device.

Tips for talking to strangers

• Never share your phone number, address, school or college, or social media handles.
• Don't send photos or information you wouldn't want a stranger to keep.
• Nobody from StrangerYaar will ever ask for your password or a payment in chat.
• If a chat makes you uncomfortable, just tap Skip. You don't owe anyone an explanation.
• Be kind. There's a real person on the other side.

House rules

No nudity or sexual content, no harassment or hate, no spam or scams, no one under 18, and no sharing anyone's personal information. Breaking these rules gets you banned.

To report a problem or appeal a ban, email our grievance officer at grievance@strangeryaar.in. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days.

If you or someone else is in danger, contact the police on 112. For cyber crime, report at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930.
